If you would like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you will have to pass through several security steps. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the present registrar company – as long as you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email and no one else can see it. You have to provide this code to the new registrar, or else they will not be able to start the domain transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may comprise of numbers or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy/paste the correct code. As an additional protection measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain name may be altered regularly. Certain domain name registrars call this code a domain password, a domain secret or an Auth key as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting

In case you’ve got a shared hosting service, you have registered a domain through us and you’d like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP authorization code with no more than a couple of clicks. When you sign into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domains that you have registered through our company shown alphabetically. On the right-hand side of each domain, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all domain extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrar companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain name owner’s email address straight away. In the same section you can also find and ultimately update the email, if the one there is not valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can swiftly obtain the transfer authentication code for any domain registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you would like to transfer it away. This can be done through the very same Control Panel, via which you manage your account, so you won’t have to switch between different platforms. All you need to do is go to the domain management section of the Control Panel and click the EPP button for the domain name that you want to transfer, provided that its TLD extension supports transfers with a code. Our system emails all codes automatically to the domain name owner’s email address listed in the domain’s WHOIS record, so in case the email that is currently listed is outdated, you can update it with a couple of clicks without needing to leave the domain management section of the Control Panel.
